Writer’s block

Lately, I’ve been suffering from the beast known as the Writer’s Block. I’ve written maybe a few measly pages since the beginning of December. When I saw this picture on Jennifer Crusie’s website, it felt like recognition. I know it. And like Crusie, I’m going to laugh at it.

I’m going to beat it too: push the damn thing off my desk and pulverize it. One day soon…

Oh, yes. January, every year without fail. I hope February brings you thawed flow. πŸ™‚

  2. Oh dear, the dreaded brain clog. What has helped you unclog in the past? I usually find reading something fun to be useful, also actually leaving the house. (Gasp!)

Good luck with beating the beast, Olga. I’ve never suffered from the beast, but I suffer Writer’s Frustration when you’re dying to write, but life is too demanding. Onward and upward!

Hmm, I’ve got an old, blocky step-stool the kids no longer use. Perfect excuse for not sitting at the desk and writing. And I can put my lap-desk under it too.

I’m not sure I ever have “writers block.” I can’t always come up with exactly the concept I’m attempting and have to stop on a scene or something, but I find leaping beyond the stuck point, or writing on something else for a while, seems to fix that issue. My problems with writing a generally laziness. Shame on me.

    Bring on the chainsaws!!! πŸ˜€

  6. I’m not sure I have a block as much as an excuse after excuse. But all I really want to do is write my next book. Freeing up the time, that’s the trouble. Good luck finding and corralling your muse!

I just have no time. But I do love Calvin & Hobbes.
